A Shot at Love

Tila Tequila Heads Home with 4 Semi-Finalists

June 4, 2008

After ending Lisa and George’s shots at love, Tila Tequila is going on hometown dates with the four remaining — and newly tattooed and pierced — contestants: Kristy, Jay, Bo and Brittany.

For their first challenge the bisexual bachelorette took the six remaining suitors to a tattoo parlor to see how far they’d go to win her love. But she gave them an option: get a tattoo, a piercing, walk on broken glass or get shocked in an electric chair. Based on their level of commitment, Tila picked winners to go on one of three dates: a sexy date, a romantic date and a dirty date.

Kristy got a star like Tila’s tattooed behind her ear. Jay and Bo both got shot glass tattoos, while Brittany got her bellybutton pierced and Lisa sat in the electric chair and shocked herself. George made a big production of walking on glass and even bandaged up his foot, but Tila quickly took off her shoes and walked the walk herself, telling everyone that the glass was fake.

For the sexy date, Tila and Kristy tried on lingerie together. Rivals Bo and Jay ate sushi and gave massages on the romantic date and the rest of the cast got dirty with body paint.

Even though Lisa won the second challenge — to see who could suck down the most blended hot dogs through a straw — she and George were sent packing, leaving Kristy, Jay, Bo and Brittany in the competition and taking Tila home to meet their family and friends on next week’s hometown dates episode.

A Shot at Love 2: Glitter Goes

May 28, 2008

Even though she surprised everyone and beat Brittany in the Cherry Pit wrestling challenge, had some sweet and sexy alone time with Tila Tequila during the candy shop date and took off her clothes and jumped in the pool, Glitter, an exotic dancer from Scottsdale, Ariz., was sent home on Tuesday’s episode of A Shot at Love 2 with Tila Tequila. During the Stay or Go game, in which Tila asked her suitors whether their competitors should stick around or be eliminated, the always emotional Glitter told Tila that she couldn’t judge people and she wanted them all to stay.

“Just because I don’t want anyone to go doesn’t mean I don’t want to stay really, really bad,” Glitter said just before elimination.

“When you first got here you were so sparkly and glowing,” Tila told her. “But as time went on I became fearful that you’re too emotional to be with me.” And just like that, Glitter was gone. But not before a final tearful confessional.

Scotty was also sent home, but didn’t fall apart quite like Glitter.

Tila Tequila Takes Another ‘Shot at Love’

April 23, 2008

The bisexual bachelorette is back! After things didn’t work out with Tila Tequila and Bobby Banhart — the guy she picked in the first season of her show — the Internet pinup girl invited 15 “sexy new lesbians” and 15 “hot new guys” to a pink and blue mansion in her quest to find “love and long term relationship” on MTV’s A Shot at Love 2.

“Even though I picked a guy last time, I’m still bisexual and it’s anyone’s game,” Tila — dressed in gold hot pants and a black jacket — told her cheering suitors on Tuesday’s premiere episode. With the guys in a blue cage and the women in a pink cage, the battle of the sexes began as the teams gyrated and stripped in a dance off to see who would get to woo Tila first. The ladies won.

After cocktail hour, which included a couple steamy kisses, the women competed in a sexy talent show. In the first elimination, Tila sent home six women, including Lili and Serenity, who were early favorites but disrespected their host by making out with each other instead of Tila.

Next, the guys did their best to steal a kiss from Tila (which didn’t turn out to be too hard) before strutting their stuff — and in one case, showing his stuff — to Tila in a sexy runway show. Like the ladies before them, six men were sent packing in their first elimination, which provided viewers with the best line of the night: “If I don’t know you like that, you don’t just bend me over and try to hump me,” Tila said of Chris, who, dressed as a cop, manhandled her a little too much.

Tila Gets a Second ‘Shot’ At Love

January 2, 2008

Good news for bachelors, bachelorettes and Tila Tequila fans: MTV has ordered up another season of A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila. Starting this spring the network will air 10 more episodes of the popular and over-the-top lovefest, which puts a bisexual twist to the dating show formula. In the first season, Web star Tila Tequila searched for love among 16 straight men and 16 gay women. In the end she ended up with a guy — Bobby Banhart — but she’s back on the market now.

“I thought I had finally found someone that I was compatible with, but I guess I was wrong,” Tequila wrote of the recent split on her MySpace blog. “My hectic schedule was really hard on him and we both were getting frustrated, but at the same time … it’s too bad that things didn’t work out between us.” Too bad, indeed.
